All services can be delivered in person or virtually. MMIC professionals are also willing to travel to other locations outside of Prince Edward Island to provide services.
Training Services
– Every training is customized to meet the needs of the organization and the participants.
– Training content and activities are individualized to match the area of work for that organization and its staff.
– The length of training is mutually determined based on the needs and goals of the organization and what it would take for MMIC to achieve those.
– Trainings will range from one to three days.

Introduction to Motivational Interviewing Training (Beginner)
This training is ideal for individuals who have little to no knowledge of what Motivational Interviewing is and how it connects to the work they do. It provides participants with a basic understanding of the core principles in Motivational Interviewing, equipping them with the key skills to help others unlock their greatness. Participants will have an opportunity to apply these skills with real-time feedback from an MMIC professional.
Foundations of Motivational Interviewing Training (Intermediate)
This training is ideal for individuals who already possess a working knowledge of what Motivational Interviewing is and have had the opportunity to integrate it into their practice. Participants will leave with an increased understanding of Motivational Interviewing, plus have the opportunity to hone their skills with real-time feedback from an MMIC professional. Participants will benefit from shared learning to increase their confidence and utilize Motivational Interviewing in a deeper more meaningful way.
Comprehensive Motivational Interviewing Training (Advanced)
This training is ideal for individuals who have been using Motivational Interviewing for multiple years and are interested in taking their practice to the next level. Participants will leave this training with the tools to meet the Motivational Interviewing proficiency thresholds, demonstrating an advanced level of practice. Participants will receive additional focus on skill building and real-time feedback, enabling them to shift from having a thorough understanding the key concepts and skills, to utilizing them strategically and intentionally.
Specialized Skill-Based Training (All Levels)
This training is ideal as an additional option for individuals who have received training previously and are interested in honing one or more skills or deepening an aspect of Motivational Interviewing. These trainings can be shorter in length and can occur multiple times for different types of skills or aspects of Motivational Interviewing to foster growth in a particular area. These trainings can include coaching services as well, to target performance-related concerns or promote opportunities for professional development.
Consulting Services (click to expand)
Coaching
Coaching provides targeted skill-building to address performance-related concerns or promote opportunities for professional development. It typically includes an initial meeting with the individual(s) and/or their supervisor/manager to determine the goals with a mutually agreed upon action plan to achieve the desired outcome.
Coaching can occur individually or as part of a group and can be either short-term or long-term depending on the needs of the organization and/or their staff. It also involves constant communication including feedback to encourage opportunities for the individual(s) to incorporate what was discussed into their work or practice.
Program Development and Implementation
This service is designed for organizations who are interested in creating or implementing a new program and are looking for guidance on how to reach success. Regardless of where you’re at in the process and what it is you need, an MMIC professional will get you to the finish line.
With experience in successfully taking a program from conception to implementation, MMIC staff are skilled in the following areas:
– Program design and framework
– Writing expressions of interest and completing formal applications
– Determining budgets and staffing needs
– Screening, interviewing and hiring new employees
– Designing job descriptions, orientation processes and policies
– Onboarding and training new employees
– Data collection and reporting
Training Customization and Delivery
This service is designed for organizations who are interested in creating or customizing training for their staff that includes specific content and methodologies that match the work they do. An MMIC professional will design a training that prepares your staff for success and can also deliver that training as an additional service.
