Trusting Reflections

Often times when we provide a reflection, we’re uncertain how it will land and if the other individual will interpret it as we intend.

As a result, we may feel the need to overexplain our reflection to ensure a positive response.

While it’s natural to catch yourself responding this way, it’s beneficial to trust your reflection and let it land.

***In MI, we want to leave space for the other individual to interpret and take the reflection wherever they see fit, allowing us to gain valuable information from them and shape our next response.
